Elisabeth Östin (b. 1989, Viken) is a Swedish artist who lives and works in Arrie.
She received her MA from Malmö Art Academy in 2019.
Elisabeth Östin often refers to her paintings as hybrids or ongoing transformations. Her paintings have been described as fantastic and abominable, bordering between what seems familiar and yet unknown.
She is fascinated by painting as a language of secrets and obscurities, inaccessible to the spoken language. She refers to this in her recent series that is currently shown at Galleri Arnstedt, with the title Stumma källan, wich is directly translated as Mute Well (well in Swedish also means source).
